TWO elderly men were burgled in the space of half an hour in Wigan on Monday evening with one of the victims having bleach sprayed in his face.

Police were called to a house on Bird Street in Ince shortly after 6.30pm where an 89-year-old man answered the door to four men who said they were there to check the water supply.

The offenders stole a number of personal items.

They are described as white men, wearing all dark clothing and had Wigan accents.

Then shortly after 7pm on the same day, four men broke into a house on Snowdon Avenue in Worsley Mesnes.

A 79-year-old man had bleach sprayed in his face but was not seriously injured.

The men fled the scene with a quantity of cash.

The offenders are described as follows:

Offender one - A white man in his 20s, heavy build, 5ft 8 tall, aged approximately 26, wearing all black clothing and a mask.

Offender two - A white man, stocky build, 5ft 8 – 5ft 10 tall, wearing all dark clothing and carrying a screwdriver.

Offender three - A white man in his 20s, stocky build and wearing all dark clothing.

Offender four - A white man, stocky build, wearing all dark clothing.
