A FIRE investigation has been launched after a house fire in the early hours of this morning, Tuesday.

Four fire engines and a hydraulic platform were sent to South Lane in Tyldesley shortly after 3am where a detached house was well alight.

Crews used two breathing apparatus, two hose reels and a jet to extinguish the flames.

Manchester Fire and Rescue service said a probe has been set up to discover the cause of the fire.

No-one was reported to have been hurt in the fire.
