SCARECROWS were out in force on a road in Tyldesley earlier this month.
Residents from more than 10 houses on Sheriffs Drive were guarded by scarecrows in a community event organised by Carol Lealand.

Tyldesley councillors Nazia Rehman and Stephen Hellier judged the competition and presented top prize for a pirate scarecrow, and awarded second place to an entry of an old man with a pumpkin.
