HOWE Bridge is ready to remember the fallen at this year’s Remembrance Day ceremony.

Howe Bridge Community group 'The Bridgers' spent last Saturday morning decorating the village with large poppies as a tribute to all who have paid the ultimate price in service of their country.

Terry Daly, chairman of The Bridgers, said: “The weather wasn’t too kind to us on Saturday but our small team of volunteers and Cllr John Harding got stuck into the task and the village looks great.

"We also put poppies along the rear border fence of the Cenotaph as we did last year”.

Cllr Harding added: “The Bridgers do a fantastic job in enhancing the whole area throughout the year and it was my pleasure to again assist them with the work on Saturday morning.

"They are a small group and always on the look-out for new members, even if they only have the odd hour or so to spare.”
