A MAN was banned for drink driving after being nearly two times over the limit.

Steven Fitzmaurice, of Primrose Street, Tyldesley pleaded guilty to the charge when he was in control of a car on October 25.

The 33-year-old was disqualified for 18 months which may be reduced by 137 days if he completes a course.

Fitzmaurice was also fined £120, told to pay a £32 victim services surcharge fee and £85 in court costs.

He was sentenced at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
