THE A580 East Lancs Road will be partly closed next week.

Motorists are being warned after weekly closures will be in place until December to allow electricity, Virgin Media, and BT diversion works to be carried out ahead of the A58/A580 Pewfall Junction Improvement scheme which is due to be carried out in the New Year.

The work is subject to weather conditions, particularly sensitive due to traffic management installation – and road users are advised to take alternative routes where possible, and allow extra journey time to avoid delays.

Access to properties and businesses will be maintained at all times.

Pedestrian access will be maintained, however a suitably signed diversion of the existing pathway will be installed around the construction works if needed.

Details of next week’s closures are outlined in the table below:

From November 18 to 24 the A580 westbound filter lane and lane one will be closed (east of junction) to allow BT to lower existing network.

From November 18 to 20 the A580 westbound lane one closed (west of junction) will be closed to allow BT to demolish a chamber and re-build.

From November 18 to 24 the A580 westbound lane 1 closed (east of junction) will be closed to allow Virgin / Vodafone to lower existing network

From November 18 to 24 the A580 eastbound filter lane and lane one (west of junction) will be closed to allow Virgin to lower existing network.

and lastly from November 23 to 24 there will be no access to Stanley Bank Way from East Lancs, the only access from Stanley Bank Way will be from Liverpool via A580 e/b. This is for Virgin / Vodafone to lower existing network.

This last one will take place from 6am to 8pm.
