THE council has issued a warning after a resident received a text message asking them to receive to proceed with a tax refund.
The resident's message this afternoon, Friday, asked for the refund to be completed by an application via "'www.councill02'."

A council spokesman said: "This is a scam and no one who receives this should click the link. Wigan Council will never inform residents of a refund via text."
