A WOMAN in her 60s who was taken to hospital after being hit by a van in Wigan has died.

Police have issued a borough-wide appeal for information after the woman died following the collision.

Officers were called at around 4.30pm on Monday (November 25) to reports of a crash between a white Ford Transit van and a pedestrian on Frog Lane at the junction with Dorning Street.

Emergency services attended and a woman in her 60s was taken to hospital, where she sadly died the following day.

An investigation is underway and officers are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.

Police Constable Phillip Collingwood, of GMP’s Serious Collison Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the woman’s family at this sad time and we have specialist officers supporting them whilst we investigate the circumstances of the collision.

“If you were in the area at the time and witnessed anything or have dash cam footage of the collision, please contact us as a matter of urgency. ”
