THE winner of Junior Bake Off will be taking a break from the cake making today to turn on the Christmas lights in his home town of Tyldesley .

Thirteen-year-old Fred Longworth pupil Fin will be taking centre stage to turn on the lights in Tyldesley tonight as part of a day of a day of celebrations starting with Christmas Markets from noon.

From 1pm there will also be entertainment from school choirs, Fred Longworth Brass Band and singer Hannah Dootson and Father Christmas on his sleigh.

The light switch on will take place at 5.30pm.

Fin, won the coveted title earlier this month on the Channel 4 spin off show which saw him take on 20 other youths in a range of cooking challenges.

Fin, who started baking with his grandmother and taught himself further using YouTube videos, rose to the challenge during two heats and a finals week.
