A WOMAN has died after a crash yesterday morning, Tuesday.

Police were called to Clarence Street in Leigh at around 11.30am after reports a woman had been seriously injured following a collision with a Ford Fiesta.

The woman – who is believed to be in her late 60s – was taken to hospital for treatment but she was sadly pronounced dead hours later.

The full circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation. However, there is some suggestion that the woman was driving the car herself before she lost control of the vehicle and fell out.

It is thought the car then continued reversing before running her over.
