Christmas shoppers were evacuated from a store in Weymouth yesterday as alarms started to ring.
Staff of the Marks & Spencer on St Mary Street ushered people out of the shop at about 12.45pm.
It turned out that the fire alarm had been set off by accident, and that after about ten minutes everybody was allowed to continue their Christmas shopping.
The fire service was not called to the incident.
