A LADIES luncheon club has held its last event last month after 35 years.

Members of Atherton Ladies Luncheon Club enjoyed a Christmas meal together with the Ladybridge Singers providing entertainment.

The club was founded by Ray Eckersley and Pat Braddock and its monthly lunches with guest speakers, day trips and weekends away proved to be a hit.

It nearly finished 14 years ago but a group of ladies formed a small committee to keep it going.

Due to the amount of people attending events dropping combined with the cost of room hire and meals, a decision to finish the club was made by the committee last year.

Commemorative pens were presented to every member along with lovely Christmas presents at their last event.

The club would like to thank everyone who helped to keep it going over the years and members look back in fondness over many friendships made in that time.
