A LEIGH high school teacher who is the face of a TV advert encouraging people to get into teaching is backing a recruitment event next week.
Bedford High School science teacher Addison Brown stars in the Department for Education's Get Into Teaching Campaign, which follows him during a working day.
The 27-year-old is now fronting a free, public recruitment event which will be held in Manchester on Saturday, January 25.
Addison said: “I’m supporting the campaign because I would like to encourage more people in Greater Manchester to consider a career in teaching.
“No two days are the same as a teacher and there are so many amazing aspects to the role.
"For me, the most rewarding parts of teaching are those lightbulb moments you get when students start to understand something in the classroom and succeed in the lesson, or when students thank you for helping them through their exams.
“Teaching definitely keeps you on your toes but there are so many positives seeing children grow into interesting, funny and polite young adults, and knowing that you are part of that transformation.”

Addison will be joined by other teachers on the day, who will share their experiences at the University of Manchester's Barnes Wallis Building on the Sackville Street Campus from 10am to 3pm.
Experienced teacher training advisors will be on hand to guide aspiring teachers through the training options and next steps.
Representatives from schools and universities that provide teacher training will also be there with insights into how to make a strong application.

Information will be available about the latest financial support people can receive to train, and the opportunities for career progression.
Registration for the event in advance is advisable but visitors can turn up and register on the day.
