A TWO-YEAR-OLD boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a van yesterday afternoon, Thursday.

Emergency services were sent to Guest Street in Leigh at around 4.50pm where a boy had been struck by a white Peugeot Boxer.

An ambulance, two rapid response vehicles and an advanced paramedic were sent to the scene before the boy was taken to hospital.

He is described as being in a critical but stable condition.

The driver of the Peugeot remained at the scene.

No arrests have been made by police.
