AN independent opticians that is celebrating its 30th year in business has introduced a hearing care service.

Gill Opticians, based at Spinning Gate Shopping Centre in Leigh, is offering a complimentary hearing health check as part of the service.

The practice rolled out the service with a hearing care launch day on Wednesday, January 15, where attendees were treated to live demonstrations of state-of-the-art hearing aids.

Along with a complimentary hearing check, the practice offers ear wax removal, hearing protection, hearing aids and lifetime aftercare as part of the service, provided in partnership with audiology business Amplify Hearing.

Audiologist Fayaadh Ibrahim, an experienced north west professional, has also joined the practice.

Practice manager David Hindley said: “We’re incredibly excited to now be able to offer a service that not just cares for our patients’ eyesight, but for their hearing as well.

“I’d like to personally welcome Fayaadh to the practice, who I know is fully committed to providing the same level of customer care that we pride ourselves in our eye care offering.

“Hearing care has always been something we’ve been pushing to introduce and with the support of Fayaadh and Amplify Hearing we’re hoping this service can keep maintaining the overall health of the local population.”

Gill Opticians is celebrating its 30th anniversary of business in September.

David said: “As an independent, we believe we can provide a much more dedicated and personalised service with team members who have the expertise to vary their care dependent on the needs of each patient.

“Our hearing is vitally important, not just for the older generations, but also those in middle age. What we really want to try and avoid is undetected hearing loss in those below the age of 50, so we hope this service can improve the overall health of the local population.”
