FIREFIGHTERS tackled a car fire which spread to another vehicle yesterday evening, Wednesday.

One fire engine was sent to Broadwell Drive in Leigh at around 7.50pm where a car was well alight and flames had spread to another car.

The crew used a hose reel and breathing apparatus to put out the fire.

They were there for just under an hour before the incident was passed over to the police.

Greater Manchester Police has not linked this fire to an incident which happened in Leigh at around the same time.

After putting out a car fire on Henry Street at around 7.55pm, a fire crew found bullet holes in the vehicle.

When police arrived they discovered shots had been fired at the car as well as the upstairs and downstairs windows of a house.
