Beer festival

THE Bent N Bongs Beer Bash is returning to Atherton Roller Rink next month.

The 31st annual event will take place at the Bolton Road venue from Thursday, February 6 to Saturday, February 8.

Comedy play

A comedy which follows the evening of two friends in a hotel bar will be performed at Tyldesley Little Theatre from next week.

Passing Strangers will be on stage at the Lemon Street theatre for the first time on Tuesday, January 28 and will run until Saturday, February 1.

All five performances will begin at 7.30pm.

Film screening

Biographical film Mrs Lowry and Son will be screened at Leigh Spinners Mill on Friday, February 14.

The film, which tells the story of artist LS Lowry and the relationship with his mum, will take place in the Park Lane site’s Conference Room at 7.30pm.

Tickets are priced at £5 and £3 for students.

People are invited to bring their own food and drinks.

Coffee morning

A coffee morning will take place at Lowton St Mary’s Community Hall on Saturday, February 1.

The social event will be held at the Newton Road venue from 10am to 1pm.

Entry is £3 per person, which includes tea/coffee and toast/cake with a free door prize.

Funds raised will go towards the cost of paying for new front doors for the church.

Lowton WI

Lowton Women Institute will be meeting on Thursday, February 6 with a keep fit theme.

They will meet at Lowton Social Club on Newton Road at 7.15pm.

Financial advice

Free financial advice will handed out at the Garry Kay Centre in Leigh on Tuesday, January 28.

Wigan Borough Community Partnership will host the session at the Spinning Gate centre from 9.30am until 1pm.
