WAREHAM Carnival's theme this year will be 'World of Music and Colour.'
This was announced at the event's launch night.
Last year's carnival chairman Ian Davey handed out more than £2,100 to local organisations during the launch night.
Recipients of the 2019 carnival included the Wareham and Sandford cub scout groups, Wareham in Bloom, and Dorset Search and Rescue (DorSAR).
A carnival committee spokesman said: "The night was a way of saying a special thank you to all our sponsors in 2019 and welcome some of our 2020 sponsors ,friends and supporters of our lovely towns event.
"Included in the night was live music a fundraising raffle and our furry winged friends from Hawks in the Forest.
"The real icing on the cake was the generous donation of £2,010 from Hays Travel of Wareham with the promise of more towards our 2020 campaign to give twice the amount away to local courses this coming year.
"Wareham is a small town with a huge punch when it comes to charity."
