HERE are seven events coming up:

Church anniversary

BAG Lane Methodist Church in Atherton is holding its anniversary show on Friday, February 20 to mark its 106th birthday.

There will be young people singing and dancing at the event, which begins at 7.30pm.

Admission is £5.

Refreshments will be on sale.

The Lion King

ST George’s Church on Tavistock Street in Atherton is screening Disney’s 2019 version of The Lion King on Wednesday, February 19 during the school half-term week.

Entry is £2 per person for the viewing, which starts at 2pm.

The previous day, Tuesday, February 18, there will be a coffee morning with arts and crafts for toddlers and primary school children.

The event is free with the church accepting donation for drinks and refreshments.

Ukulele band

WIGAN Ukulele Band will be performing at Hindley Green Methodist Church on Saturday, February 22.

They will play at the Leigh Road church at 7.30pm.

Entry is £6 including refreshments with people able to pay on the door.

Indoor market

AN indoor market with a variety of goods will be held at Boothstown British Legion on Sunday, February 23.

It will take place at the Victoria Street venue from noon until 4pm where a range of clothes, books, DVDs, toys and household items will be on sale.

The event is being held by Makants Greyhound Rescue NW.

Half term fun

BENTS Garden and Home in Glazebury will be helping children to get creative during half term week.

The Warrington Road centre is setting up a Creation Station, where little ones can get busy during the week, which begins on Monday, February 17.

The station will be located between the centre’s children’s boutique and shop C-Crafts, where it will be free to use.

Pottery painting workshops will be held on February 18 and 20 when youngsters will be able to decorate their own ceramic coin bank in the first session or a watering can in the latter workshop.

Drop-in sessions, which do not need to be booked, will also be held.

A rose-themed treasure hunt will take place throughout the break with face painting sessions planned for February 18, 20 and 22. For more details such as times and prices visit bents.co.uk.

Collectors fair

AN antique and collectors fair will be held at Leigh Leisure Centre on Sunday, February 16.

Art, poetry, musical instruments, military memorabilia and collector coins are some of the items that will be on offer at the Sale Way venue.

The event is set to start at around 9am and finish at 6pm.

Dancing event

PRIMARY and high school children are set to show off their dancing skills at an inaugural event.

Youngsters from borough schools will perform in the first Let’s Dance in Leigh event on Thursday, February 27.

It will be held at Leigh Leisure Centre, Leigh Sports Village from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

The WigLe Dance CIC event will also include a special guest.
