TWO babies, four toddlers and eight other people were found in the back of a van on the M6.
Police stopped the van on the motorway in Staffordshire after it had flagged on their systems as having no tax or MOT.
However officers soon discovered more problems inside.
A police spokesman tweeted: "We have stopped this van, on the M6 in the Staffordshire area.
"It was showing as untaxed and no MOT, when we opened it we couldn't believe our eyes.
"It had 14 people inside it, including babies and children, the consequences could have been horrific, the driver can expect a day in court."
The force later tweeted there were two babies and four toddlers among those inside.
