A NEW Post Office is set to open in Paddington.
The branch will move into the AJ Convenience store on Manchester Road, opposite the Dog and Partridge pub.
It will replace the Post Office on Holes Lane in Woolston, which closed in December after the postmaster resigned and the premises was withdrawn for use for this purpose.
Opening on Wednesday, March 11, it will benefit from increased opening times of 95 hours per week.
It will be open for business between 5.30am and 8pm from Monday to Saturday, and from 6am to 4pm on Sundays.
Sarah Cottrell, Post Office area change manager said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.
“We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs.”
The Post Office terminal will sit alongside the retail till in the convenience store with available services including bill payments, banking, benefits, travel services, postage, home shopping returns and a collection point.
Customers are advised to use the nearby Post Offices in Padgate, on Padgate Lane and Harrier Road, until the new branch opens.
