CINDERELLA will take centre stage at Golborne High School this week.
A pantomime of the classic fairytale, performed by Golborne St Thomas' Amateur Dramatic and Operatic Society (STADOS), is on show at the Lowton Road school from tomorrow, Tuesday, until Saturday.
Bethan Littlewood, who plays the leading role, said: “It’s a dream role to play Cinderella, especially as its my first main part.
"The STADOS cast and crew have been such a friendly welcoming group.
"They are really family-oriented and there are plenty of children and young people involved.
"We all work so well together and we can't wait for the opening night."
Producer, director and "Ugly Sister" performer Keith Wilde said: “This is my second year producing the pantomime and I’ve loved every minute of it working with the cast and crew, all of who have worked really hard to put on this production.
“The backing of the local community in buying tickets and coming along and supporting us all is really appreciated.”
Golborne councillors Yvonne Klieve, Gena Merrett and Susan Gambles, who visited the group during the dress rehearsals, have helped with the cost of scenery, costumes and props by handing over £500 from their Wigan Council Brighter Borough allocation.
They will also be volunteering on the refreshment stand at the interval.

Cllr Klieve said: “Our fantastic volunteers give up so much of their time, to help our young people to gain confidence, these young people then in turn give up their time to bring so much pleasure to local people, as usual it will be another fantastic production.”
The performances begin at 7.15pm on the five nights with a matinee show on Saturday starting at 2pm.
