WHAT a treat we had at Wincham Park.
All the thrills and spills of a derby match, six goals, a dramatic comeback and a hat-trick to savour as Northwich Victoria and 1874 Northwich drew 3-3.
Fans of both sides turned out in numbers for a crowd of 557 – the highest in the North West Counties League so far this season...
On the field, it was down to action and it was Vics who settled quicker, taking the lead through a stooped Brandon Barski header...
The form book was well and truly being ripped up when Saul Henderson towered above the 1874 defence to double Vics' lead – and the home fans were loving it...
With a two-goal lead to protect, anyone would think Vics would have settled for a low-key start to the second half.
Brad Lynch had other ideas...
Then, the 1874 comeback started in earnest.
Scott McGowan's long-range first goal was not caught on camera, but his second to make it well and truly game on was...
The league leaders took that as a cue to dominate as Vics dropped deeper and deeper to protect their lead.
Time was running out and it looked as though '74 would drop to a first league loss since November.
However, McGowan provided one final dramatic twist...
