A HOME care provider’s registered manager has been recognised for her brilliant work in the social care sector.

Tracey Woodward, registered manager, and Hayley Foy, deputy manager, from Affinity Homecare, based in Newtown, have been awarded the ‘Home Care Registered Manager’ and carers award accolade at the Great British Care Awards (Wales).

The awards evening was held at the Park Plaza Hotel in Cardiff and had 23 different categories, all recognising those carrying out excellent work in the care sector and on March 20 they will be attending the Great Britain National awards.

Tracey said: “It was a shock to be shortlisted but to win the award is a true honour.

“We couldn’t have done it without the amazing team we work with. They are all brilliant dedicated carers and this award is for them as well, also for Deborah Morgan who provides the excellent professional training to ensure the care team deliver the highest current evidenced based care that promotes empathy, dignity and respect to all of our clients.”

Affinity has been running in Newtown for nine years and has been managed by Tracey Woodward for eight years.

The business employs 52 carers and has 102 clients across North and South Powys delivering care 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.
