LEIGH Market closed today, Tuesday, in response to tighter social distancing measures that the Government put in place last night, Monday, to tackle the coronavirus outbreak.
Wigan Market was also shut by Wigan Council with the local authority confirming traders will not have to pay rent while the markets are closed.

A council spokesman said: “Following the latest guidance issued by Government last night (Monday), Wigan and Leigh markets are closed.
"Traders will not be charged rent while the markets are closed.”
