A 21-YEAR-OLD from Wigan has been charged with terrorism offences.

Liam Fenn of Harrow Place, Ince has been charged with nine offences under Section 58(1)(b) TACT 2000, which relates to the possession of a document or record likely to be useful to a person preparing, or committing, an act of terrorism.

He has also been charged with three offences under Section 1 TACT 2006, which relates to the encouragement of acts of terrorism.

Fenn was remanded in custody and taken to Manchester Magistrates Court to appear via video link at Westminster Magistrates Court on Thursday 26 March 2019.

He has been remanded to appear before the Central Criminal Court (The Old Bailey) on April 8 2020.

At around 8am on Tuesday, March 24, officers from Counter Terrorism Policing North West executed a warrant at a property on Harrow Place, Ince and arrested a 21-year-old man on suspicion of terrorism offences.
