PRIMARY school staff have taken part in a music video performing a hilarious rendition of Shotgun by George Ezra to cheer up students during coronavirus isolation.

Staff at Westleigh St Paul's Primary School were devastated when the school closed on Friday, March 20 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

However, after seeing other schools putting together videos of staff performing to popular songs to bring some cheer, Westleigh St Pauls decided to get in on the action.

This was the idea of Year 1 teacher Kate Linge from Wigan.

She said: "After we saw other schools nearby doing it, myself and a teaching assistant decided to do it ourselves and we messaged the other staff on Whatsapp and everyone wanted to get involved.

"It was great fun to put together and we did it just to cheer up our students.

"This week should be when we break up for Easter and they are missing all the things we get to do in school, but at least if we can cheer them up at home it's worth it.

"The response we've had so far has been really positive from parents and students, the few we've had in school came in and said they were made up with it."
