THE number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in the borough have jumped by 52.
In the latest figures released on Monday, April 6 the borough has 236 confirmed cases of COVID-19, a significant increase of 52 on the previous day's total and believed to be the biggest jump in 24 hours so far.
However there have been no new confirmed deaths in relation to the virus at St Helens and Knowsley NHS Trust over the past two days.
Meanwhile, Knowsley now has 167 confirmed cases.
There are likely to be many more people with the virus, self-isolating at home.
Overall, St Helens and Knowsley NHS Trust has confirmed the deaths of 18 patients who had tested positive for Covid-19.
Across the country there have been 51,608 confirmed cases, with 5,373 people dying with the illness.
