AN investigation has been launched after a man was beaten by a group of people before being put into a boot of a car.

Police were called at 9.55pm on Saturday, May 16 to reports that a man had been beaten by a gang of people on Shelley Street in Leigh before being put into the boot of a car and driven away.

The man – aged in his 20s – was later safely found in the Healey area of Lancashire.

No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
