Police found a body in the canal
THE body of a man has been found in a canal today (Thursday).
At around 9.25am on Thursday, May 21, police were called to reports of concern for the welfare of a man in water off Warwick Street, Leigh.
Officers attended and a man was sadly found dead at the scene.
Police say there are believed to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
