FIREFIGHTERS are currently tackling another huge moorland fire.
Eight fire engines are in attendance near Lords Hall Lane in Darwen since 7pm.
On arrival firefighters requested further crews attend and crews from both Lancashire and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue are on the scene.
This is the second fire since a raging fire hit Winter Hill in Bolton.
A spokesman for Lancashire Fire said: "With a large smoke plume being produced by the moorland fire in Darwen we would advise anyone being affected by the plune to close windows and doors as a precaution at this time until the smoke dissipates."
The fire front is covering an area approximately 300 yards by 200 yards.
Firefighters are currently using aqua packs and beaters to bring the fire under control.
A tweet from Lancashire Fire said: "We currently have eight fire crews in attendance at a moorland fire in Darwen.
"Crews are from both Lancs and @manchesterfire.
"Further incident details can be found on our website."
Smoke can be seen overlooking Winter Hill and Belmont.
