LEIGH Soroptimist Club have recognised the work of Care home staff by creating Kindness Hampers.

Throughout the coronavirus pandemic, keyworkers, in particular those in the NHS and carers, have been praised for their selfless work in helping others.

This has often led to them working longer hours and in some cases being separated from their families to shield against spreading or carrying any potential virus.

With that in mind, Leigh Soroptomist President Lynda Lilley and other members of the group spent several hours, while adhering to social distancing rules, at The Bridge Community Cafe making up the hampers for the 15 care homes in Leigh and neighbouring districts to thank them for their hard work during these unprecedented times.

They were created for the staff to show their appreciation of the work they are doing in difficult circumstances.

The biscuits and chocolates were kindly donated by The Bridge and members and supporters provided donations towards the hampers.

A kindness gift card was also attached to each hamper.
