TRAFFIC backed up on to roads in Christchurch and Poole as McDonald's reopened its drive-thrus.

Staff from the McDonald's in Alder Hill, Poole, were marshalling customers, ensuring the queues didn't get too large.

As a result, traffic on the road wasn't largely affected.

In Christchurch, cars were backed up on Somerford Road.

As reported, the restaurants at Mannings Heath, Wessex Gate Retail Park and Alder Road in Poole, as well as those in Somerford Road, Christchurch, and Ringwood Road, Ferndown, are among the latest batch to reopen from June 4.

On Wednesday, some people queuing for the Burley McDonald's as the traffic nearly backed on to A31.
