A 17-YEAR-OLD boy has been left fighting for life after a car left the road and ended up on a field in Standish.

Police have issued a borough-wide appeal for information following the collision.

Shortly after 7pm on Thursday, a silver Suzuki Swift was travelling north along Chorley Road, Standish, close to Arley reservoir, when the vehicle left the carriageway and came to rest in a field.

The driver, a boy aged 17, was taken to hospital, where he remains for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

Constable Simon Venguedasalon of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “Our thoughts are with the driver and his family while he remains in hospital.

“We’re keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the vehicle prior to the collision or captured dash cam footage that can assist our investigation.

“If you can help, please get in touch as soon as possible.”
