A PLANNING application to use a former car sales site to store vehicles and equipment of a travelling showmen firm have been drawn up.
Mr and Mrs Pont have submitted plans to use land to the rear of 36 to 38 Sandy Lane, Lowton.
Plans state that applicants are members of The Showmens Guild.
Plans say: "Given the past commercial uses of the site, the applicants acquired the site for the storage of vehicles and the ancillary maintenance of the vehicles and associated equipment".
The application adds that the timing of the submission during the coronavirus pandemic means there is currently an "exaggerated use of the site" as vehicles are "grounded" and there are fairground rides and equipment on site.
It adds that normally vehicles would be out "with regular bookings and events throughout the country".
It concludes that most of the time there would be no or few vehicles parked there.
Plans are on consultation until Wednesday, June 24.
