WHILE coaching is Steve Price's thing, teaching schoolchildren isn't judging by his recent comments.

The Warrington Wolves head coach has no intentions of ever following his wife Sheridyn into the teaching profession.

He won't be the only parent feeling this way after several months of helping to home-school his three daughters while schools have been mainly closed during the UK lockdown forced by the coronavirus pandemic.

“I’m getting itchy feet now. My wife’s a schoolteacher so she’s always cracking the whip with the girls," said Price, father of Sienna, Savannah and Sharni.

“The middle one was back at school last Monday which was handy for the household."

He added: “It’s been refreshing. I haven’t had this kind of break for a long time since I’ve been involved in coaching, so spending a lot of quality time with my wife and three girls has been fantastic.

“But I can’t wait to get back to work now and do what we do best.”

And as for a future career in teaching?

“No, not at all. That’s not for me that caper," he said.

"It’s quite challenging now being a schoolteacher, that’s not my game.”
