THESE three employees of the Old Country Laundry have every right to stand proudly in front of their horse and cart.
For the laundry, on Grant Street, Witton, won the prize for best turned-out horse and van at the Royal Lancashire Show in 1928.
The show had been held in Blackburn for the first time on land where the Old Mother Redcap now stands.
The picture shows Robert Wilkinson (right) the head van man and Albert Lancaster (left) with Jimmy Pomfret.
Polly the Welsh bay mare who pulled the van lived to for an incredible 42 years.
