PLANS to make some renovations to a sports club have been granted permission by the council.
Proposals were submitted by applicant Mr Lees for Vulcan Sports Club in Newton-le-Willows.
The planning application, submitted in June, sought to create new steps, crowd control barriers, grass mat footpaths and 'dugout' shelters at Vulcan Sports Club.
Vulcan Sports Club was created in 2016 to give a new home for the Vulcan bowling, rifle and football clubs multipurpose sports scheme by regeneration specialists St Modwen.

The clubs' relocation to the site from the Old Vulcan Works sports ground enabled new homes to be built in the area.
Planning officer Julie Hine recommended the proposals for approval. Works must begin within three years.
Formal permission has been granted for the renovations.
