A DRIVER was clocked travelling at 111mph on a motorway, police have said.
The motorist was heading along the M62 at Rainhill - which has a limit of 70mph - when police recorded the excessive speed.
Officers from North West Motorway Police shared details of the speeding offence on their Twitter account.
In the early hours of Bank Holiday Monday, they wrote: “Driver reported for speeding 111mph M62 Rainhill Merseyside Speed Limit 70mph 24/7.”
The police account regularly tweets out updates about driving offences to warn motorists to follow the rules.
