A FIFTY-YEAR-OLD man who assaulted a woman has been given an electronic tag and a restraining order.
Francis Leigh, of Railway Road, Leigh pleaded guilty to assault by beating at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court to an assault of a woman.
Leigh assaulted a woman on June 1 this year.
The 50-year-old was given a community order, which includes curfew under electronic monitoring for eight weeks.
He has also been ordered to do up to 10 days' rehabilitation activity.
Leigh was also given a one-year restraining order not to contact his victim.
The 50-year-old was also ordered to pay £150 of compensation, a £95 surcharge to fund victim services and £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service, making a total of £330.
