A FIFTY-YEAR-OLD man has admitted to being equipped for theft by having an Angle Grinder on him.
Shane Corbett, of Boundary Street, Leigh, indicated a guilty plea at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court to a charge of going equipped for theft.
On August 15, 2019 Corbett had with him an Angle Grinder "for use in the course of, or in connection with, theft", according to a court document.
Corbett was sentenced to a community order for the offence.
He must comply with an electronic curfew for 12 weeks.
The 50-year-old was also made to a £90 surcharge to fund victim services and £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service, making £175 in total.
The court ordered for the Angle Grinder to be forfeited under Section 25 of the Public Order Act 1986 and be destroyed.
