A THIRTY-FIVE-YEAR-OLD man has been disqualified from the road for 17 months after being caught drink driving.

Andrew James Adams, of Fell Street, Leigh pleaded guilty at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court to the charge.

On August 16 this year Adams drove a Ford Fiesta Zetek on Golborne Road, Ashton-in-Makerfield with 63 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath in his system, more than the legal limit of 35.

Adams was fined £120, made to pay a surcharge of £34 to victim services and £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service making a total of £239.

The 35-year-old was also banned from having a driving licence for 17 months, to be reduced by 17 weeks if, by August 20, 2021, Adams has completed a course approved by the Secretary of State.
