RETROSPECTIVE planning permission has been granted for new retail units at a supermarket.
Small branches of We Buy Any Car and Bridgestone Tyres were constructed in the car park of the Morrisons store off Wilderspool Causeweay in November last year.
Consent was not granted by Warrington Borough Council prior to this.
But the council has now given planning permission for the retention of the units, which are located in the area of the side bordering the Manchester Ship Canal.
The new premises take up around 10 car parking spaces.
Submission documents stated: “The scheme seeks to revitalise the existing WM Morrisons car park by offering more choice to customers and generating new employment opportunities through the provision of We Buy Any Car and Bridgestone Tyres pods.
“WM Morrisons hopes that the advantages of this proposal as well as the overall benefits to the local community will be supported.”
WBC gave its consent for the scheme on Monday, September 7.
