A SHOPWORKER was threatened with a kitchen knife during a "terrifying" robbery at a Co-Operative store in Orrell.
Officers are appealing for information following the robbery on Sunday, September 20.
At around 11.30am, a man threatened a worker in the shop with a large - approximately eight inch - kitchen knife with a black handle and demanded to leave the store with a basket full of shopping.
The store worker was uninjured but left shaken by the ordeal.
The offender fled on foot before getting into a dark blue Ford Forcus, where a woman was already waiting in the vehicle.
Officers have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to following the robbery as part of a borough-wide appeal.
Constable Sarah Noblett of GMP's Wigan District said: "The store worker has been put through a terrifying ordeal and we're determined to find the person responsible.
"Do you recognise the man in this picture? If so, or if you have any information that may assist our enquiries, please get in touch as soon as possible."
Police can be contacted on 0161 856 7124 quoting incident number 1380 of September 20, 2020.
Details can also be passed on anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
