A POPULAR Ellesmere Port bar and restaurant is set to reopen its doors for the first time in more than six months having temporarily closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Alfie's Bistro and Wine Bar in Little Sutton has confirmed that it will be reopening tomorrow (October 15) at 4pm.

The Chester Road venue had delayed reopening in order to ensure that it was able to "maintain a safe indoor environment for all our staff and customers".

Posting on its Facebook page, Alfie's Bistro and Wine Bar stated: "We have measures in place to make your visit the safest it can be. It’ll be table service the whole time you are with us, so just sit back and enjoy our range of fine food and drinks.

"Please be patient with our staff and be respectful of the rules. Looking forward to seeing our old friends and new."

The new opening times will be 4-10pm, Monday to Thursday, and 12-10pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

New lockdown restrictions, known as 'tier two', have come into force across Cheshire West and Chester today which means more than one household are banned from mixing with another in any indoor setting – including pubs and restaurants.

Support bubbles can continue to meet as one household under the new restrictions.
