A DOG owner who failed to microchip their pet has been hit with a fine.
Benjamin Isherwood, of Manchester Road, Leigh was found guilty in his absence at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court of not microchipping a dog.
Isherwood, 29, did not, as the keeper of a female lurcher type dog called Snapper, have the animal microchipped with 21 days of receiving a a notice under regulation 12(a) of the Microchipping of Dogs (England) Regulations 2015 on January 20, 2020.
The case was proved in Isherwood's absence and a fine was imposed.
Isherwood was fined £146 and has to pay court costs of £366,65 and a surcharge to victim services of £32.
This makes a total of £544.65 to be paid by November 3.
