A stretch of the East Lancs was closed following the crash
A SECTION of the East Lancs Road was closed following reports of a crash involving two cars.
A lamppost ended up in the road after being damaged in the incident earlier today on the dual carriageway between Haydock and Golborne.
Traffic reports state that the road was closed in the Manchester direction while the lamppost was removed.
The damaged vehicles involved in the crash have also been recovered.
An update shortly after 3pm stated the road had reopened.
The incident affected traffic leaving the M6 and heading towards Manchester.
