THEFTS of catalytic converters have been "on the rise" in Hindley, say police.
Officers say they have had recent reports of catalytic converters being stolen in Hindley and Hindley Green.
They said patrols have been in place to try and combat the thefts.
The Journal reported a few weeks ago after reports of similar thefts having taken place in Atherton.
In a statement, Greater Manchester Police said: "Theft of catalytic converters is on the rise in Hindley and Hindley Green.
"The neighbourhood team is on late shifts and will be patrolling the areas to try to combat this illegal activity.
"Please take note of the below poster for prevention information.
"Further crime prevention advice can be found on the GMP website.
"If you have any information about the theft of catalytic converters or crime in your area you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 to report anonymously.
