A WOMAN'S car was stolen at knifepoint in a terrifying car-jacking yesterday morning.
The incident in Westhoughton was captured on dash-cam and police are appealing for information
The footage shows a man dressed in dark clothing walking across Sainsbury's car park off Cricketers Way at around 11.20am as a woman is climbing into her car.
He gets into the vehicle and she jumps out screaming as a person rushes over to help — and the man drives off.
The driver who recorded the dash cam footage, who prefers not to be named, said: “A woman had come out of the supermarket and was walking towards her car, it was a BMW 4x4.
“She climbed into the front seat but a man came out of the bushes from across the car park all dressed in black and climbed into the vehicle.
“She immediately jumped back out and was screaming, I think an Argos employee came over to help her.
“I made off to chase the car but people were shouting that he had a knife.
“It’s really scary and people need to be aware that this happening, lock your doors when you get into your car.”
