THREE people were hurt after a "serious" crash in Hindley on Thursday afternoon.
Atherton Road was closed both in directions after a two-vehicle collision between George Street and Argyle Street just before 5pm.
An arrest was made on suspicion of dangerous driving.
Traffic built up as emergency services worked at the scene before the road was reopened close to 7pm.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: Police were called shortly before 5pm to a report of a collision involving two vehicles on Atherton Road in Hindley.
"Three people have been injured and both vehicles remained at the scene.
"An arrest has been made on suspicion of dangerous driving."
